Located in southwestern Utah near Springdale, Zion National Park contains a number of streams and rivers which cut through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone alongside numerous mountains, canyons, mesas, and natural arches that represent 150 million years of sedimentation. A variety of life inhabits the park’s four life zones: desert, riparian, woodland, and coniferous forest.
