C.A.R.E. Programming in Australia, Coming to Puerto Rico

AustraliaJanuary 22, 2016 — Since July, patients at a hospital in southeast Australia have been viewing The C.A.R.E. Channel. The largest private hospital in the region, the facility has 100 beds and serves a population of 518,000.

University of Puerto Rico is also underway with implementation of C.A.R.E. Select programming in its new Comprehensive Cancer Center in San Juan. The first of its kind in the Caribbean, the $196 million, 287,000 sq. ft., 96-bed hospital will provide cancer treatment and conduct clinical trials.

The University of Puerto Rico has a partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to develop programs that could reduce the burden of cancer in Hispanics worldwide. MD Anderson has been broadcasting the C.A.R.E. Channel as a client since 2001.

“Our first client outside of North America was Hong Kong Adventist Hospital,” says Haydn Bertelson, Executive Vice President, Healing HealthCare Systems. “We’re pleased to add these new hospitals to our international roster and look forward to helping them create a healing environment for their patients and staff.”
