Decreasing Noise Decreases Alarm Fatigue

ScienceDaily reports that Boston Medical Center is paving the way after successfully implementing a six-week pilot program in the cardiology unit that reduced audible alarms.

As a result of this pilot program, Boston Medical Center was able to not only combat clinical alarm fatigue, but was also able to reduce noise levels, improve patient safety, and increase both patient and staff satisfaction.
