Healing HealthCare Systems Collaborates in First-Time Gathering of Middle Eastern Nurses

Susan Mazer_Dallas SmithJune 7, 2013 — This week, nurses from Middle Eastern countries are sitting side by side, united by their shared commitment to human caring and healing. Healing HealthCare Systems is pleased to be collaborating in the “Middle Eastern Nurses Uniting in Human Caring” program June 6-8 in Amman, Jordan — a first of its kind gathering convened by Dr. Jean Watson and Watson Caring Science Institute.

HHS President and CEO Susan Mazer, Ph.D. is presenting a session on the “Universality of the Human Caring and Healing Environment,” as well as participating in several panel discussions. Dallas Smith, Executive Vice President and C.A.R.E. Channel Producer for HHS, is performing musical meditations for the group.

“The one place where adversity, difference, and fear transform into compassion and empathy is at the bedside, where patients and nurses partner in the healing process,” said Dr. Mazer. “We are privileged to add our work and support to this effort.”

The one and a half day professional, intellectual and experiential human caring program addresses global, critical, clinical nursing issues in everyday practice. Sessions also include ethical dilemmas, overcoming burnout, end of life care and other topics deepened by theory, philosophy and practices of Caring Science.

Other collaborating organizations include Institute of HeartMath, Conscious Global Leadership Institute, and the International Association in Human Caring in North America.
