C.A.R.E. Channel Brings Immediate Benefits to Residents at Swedish CCRC

sweden-flagFebruary 25, 2016 – Staff at Attendo Nissastrand, a continuing care retirement community in Halmstad, Sweden, report that residents who are often stressed – particularly those with dementia – seem relaxed and happy only after a few minutes of viewing The C.A.R.E. Channel.

The concept of utilizing nature video and music to support elder residents was new to Attendo, which trialed C.A.R.E. programming before signing on permanently.

“The feedback from residents and staff Attendo administrators received was immediate and very positive,” said Haydn Bertelson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Healing HealthCare Systems. “The staff reports using C.A.R.E. around the clock, taking advantage of the nighttime programming that helps residents sleep.”

Attendo, is the largest private provider of care for older people in the Nordics, with 490 units in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway. Attendo Nissastrand houses about 72 residents.

Halmstad is a port, university, industrial, and recreational city at the mouth of the Nissan River in the province of Halland on the Swedish west coast.
