Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month is an opportunity to join the global conversation about the brain, Alzheimer’s disease, and other dementia. Everyone is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, a fatal disease that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed. Following a traumatic event, many people have painful memories that will fade over time. For others, however, the memories, thoughts, and feelings don’t go away — even months or years later. If stress reactions do not improve over time and they disrupt everyday life, it is important to seek help to determine if post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is present.
