U.S. Navy Using C.A.R.E. Select to Study Effect of Nature Imagery & Music in Clinical Waiting Areas

NavyEmblemFebruary 11, 2016 – The Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) is using Healing HealthCare Systems’ (HHS) C.A.R.E.® Select to study the effects of nature imagery and music in clinical waiting areas.

Featuring stunning nature video and instrumental music edited and produced specifically for clinical environments, C.A.R.E. Select is reported to improve the waiting experience in medical and dental offices, infusion centers, labs and other treatment settings.

To conduct this one-year study, NMCSD is installing C.A.R.E. Select on televisions in waiting areas for Mental Health, Emergency Room, Pre-Surgery, and Internal Medicine. By entering into an agreement with HHS to provide the C.A.R.E. Select units, NMCSD does not directly or indirectly endorse any product or service provided, or to be provided, by HHS, its successors, assignees, or licensees.

“We are extremely pleased the U.S. Navy is utilizing C.A.R.E. Select to conduct this study,” said Haydn Bertelson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, HHS. “While there have been numerous clinical studies on the effects of music and nature respectively, to our knowledge this is the first research looking at the combined effect of music and nature imagery on those waiting for medical treatments.”
