Workshops Empower Staff to Provide Better Care by Reducing Noise
Minimizing environmental stressors is key to improvi ng quality & avoiding errors
April 16, 2004 Staff development workshops
presented by Healing HealthCare Systems are teaching staff in hospitals across
the nation to how to improve patient care by reducing noise levels.
Noise in hospitals is the most continually invasive component
in the environment of care, says Susan
Mazer, President of Healing HealthCare Systems. It affects the stress
levels of both patients and staff, and has an impact on patient satisfaction,
clinical outcomes, confidentiality, and staff performance and satisfaction.
Healing HealthCare Systems is the only company in the U.S. offering
workshops and programs that teach
both clinical and non-clinical staff how to assess the quality of patient spaces,
minimize environmental stressors that contribute to noise, and use the environment
to optimize patient outcomes. Continuing Education (CE) workshops include:
Curing the Noise Epidemic: A 90-minute presentation
that provides a comprehensive overview of the impact of noise on patient outcomes
and offers specific strategies for quality improvement by practice and policy.
Designing Environments that Heal®: A full-
or half-day intensive workshop that provides evidence-based strategies for designing
and using the environment of care as a therapeutic protocol to improve patient
and staff outcomes.
Orchestrating the Patient Experience®: A
90-minute presentation that moves through the chronology of events that occur
during an admission, redesigning each intervention to be a healing protocol.
Healing HealthCare Systems is a provider of continuing education
programs through the California Board of Registered
Nursing. Many states offer reciprocity with the California Board for CE
courses. A complete curriculum for each workshop is available from Healing HealthCare
Systems.
Founded in 1992, Healing HealthCare Systems produces The
C.A.R.E. Channel and other products and services that assist healthcare
organizations in creating and sustaining clinical environments that are directly
supportive of healing and recovery. HHS is currently serving hospitals in over
35 states.
