July 7 , 2005 – Diane Tusek, R.N., a nurse practitioner, researcher, and founder of Guided Imagery Inc., and Harvey Zarren, M.D., the founder and physician director of The Healing Connection, have teamed up with Healing HealthCare Systems (HHS) to provide the guided-relaxation processes for The C.A.R.E. Channel With Guided Imagery™.

Tusek’s breakthrough studies and work with the Cleveland Clinic has promoted the use of this technique in healthcare settings, optimizing treatment modalities with participation by patients in their own recovery.

The Healing Connection is a working practice established by Zarren at Union Hospital in Lynn, MA that places people and the value of human interaction back into the center of the healing process.  He believes that when this happens, an opportunity is created in which all modalities of therapy can become tools.

A supplement to The C.A.R.E. Channel®, The C.A.R.E. Channel With Guided Imagery is a unique 24-hour channel that provides varied guided imagery exercises, which are also available in English and Spanish.  Narrated meditations are scheduled at the top of each hour, followed by 45 minutes of C.A.R.E. Channel programming to allow patients to remain in the relaxed state.  In addition to basic stress reduction and relaxation processes, special programs are available for labor and delivery, pre-procedure, and pediatrics.  An evening program to promote sleep is also included.

All C.A.R.E. programming is provided in a high-quality digital MPEG-2 format, compatible with hospital CCTV systems and with many video-on-demand systems.  Updates are provided through swappable hard-drives and require no manual attention. 

The C.A.R.E. Channel is currently used by hospitals in 45 states nationwide.  C.A.R.E. programming is sold directly by HHS, and is also available through TeleHealth Services, SVI Systems, TVR Communications, and MDM Commercial.
